With over 20 years of cross-sector experience spanning aviation, banking,

hospitality, real estate, and professional services, Sonia Strickland brings a rare

blend of business acumen, people insight, and heart-led strategy to recruitment and

coaching.
 

As a former hospitality business owner, Sonia experienced firsthand the challenges

of hiring and retaining great staff. This sparked her deep passion for recruitment, a

path that began with hospitality talent acquisition and has since evolved into

providing temporary, permanent, and contract recruitment services across

government, corporate, and not-for-profit sectors.
 

Sonia is also a certified career and personal development coach, supporting

individuals, including career changers, return-to-work professionals, and skilled

migrants to gain clarity, rebuild confidence, and thrive in meaningful roles. Her

Coaching practice naturally complements her recruitment work, allowing her to

connect people with the right opportunities while preparing them to step into new roles

with strength and purpose.
 

With strong roots in the Canberra community, Sonia is passionate about helping

local small and medium businesses grow through strategic, people-first hiring. She is

a vocal advocate for inclusivity in the workforce and proudly supports individuals on

valid working visas to find employment that honours their skills and ambitions.

An inaugural Board Member of the Stella Bella Little Stars Foundation, Sonia’s

commitment to impact extends beyond her professional work.

Outside of the office, she enjoys staying active and is a proud

mum of two amazing young adults who keep her inspired

every day.
